An arrival transfer is included from either Istanbul International Airport (IST) or Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (SAW) on Day 1, or for arrivals up to three days prior, provided you’ve booked your pre-accommodation through National Geographic Journeys with G Adventures.

Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW): Similarly, look for the “M55” sign just across the road from column 13, next to a local café called “Simit Sarayı.”

Arrival Day
Day 1 is designated as an arrival day with no planned activities. Check-in at your hotel will typically be in the afternoon. Look for a notice at the reception with information about your Welcome Meeting, usually scheduled between 5 PM and 7 PM. This meeting is your opportunity to meet your tour leader and fellow travelers and to learn more about the tour itinerary.
If you arrive late and miss the Welcome Meeting, your tour leader will leave instructions at the reception for you, ensuring you’re informed for the next day.
Arrival Complications
While we don’t anticipate any issues, if something goes awry on your arrival day, please refer to the emergency contact details in this dossier and reach out to us as soon as possible. If you’ve pre-booked a transfer and haven’t connected with our representative within 30 minutes of clearing customs, we recommend making your way to the starting hotel according to the Joining Instructions. You can then request a refund for the transfer cost from your travel agent upon your return.
