ARRIVAL IN IZMIR

Your adventure begins today as you arrive at Izmir Airport or the port of Kuşadası. After clearing customs, your friendly guide will welcome you and assist with your luggage. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Izmir, where you can unwind and prepare for the exciting days ahead.

PERGAMUM - THYATIRA - IZMIR

Start your day with a hearty breakfast at your hotel before departing for the ancient city of Pergamon. This city is known for its rich history and stunning archaeological sites. Your first stop will be the Acropolis, where you will marvel at the impressive ruins, including the Theater, renowned for being one of the steepest in the ancient world.

Next, we will visit the Zeus Altar, often referred to as the "Throne of Satan" in the Book of Revelation. After soaking in the history at the Acropolis, we will head to the Asklepieion, an ancient medical center dedicated to Asclepius, the god of healing. Here, you will learn about the innovative medical practices of the ancient Greeks.

Explore the fascinating Library of Pergamon, which was the second-largest library in the ancient world, housing around 200,000 scrolls. Then, we will visit the Red Basilica (or Kızıl Basilika), once a significant Christian site.

After a fulfilling morning, we will travel to Thyatira (modern-day Akhisar), famous for its purple dye production. You will see the remains of a Roman basilica and learn about Lydia, the seller of purple, who hailed from this city.

Before returning to Izmir, we will enjoy a panoramic tour of Smyrna, which is another one of the Seven Churches. Discover the city’s rich heritage and visit the iconic Clock Tower in the central square. Return to your hotel in Izmir for a restful evening. (Meals: Breakfast and Dinner)

 IZMIR - SARDIS - PHILADELPHIA - LAODICEA - HIERAPOLIS

After breakfast, we will embark on a journey to Sardis, the capital of the ancient Lydian Kingdom in the 6th century BC. Here, we will explore the ruins of the Temple of Artemis and the Temple of Cybele, which later became a Byzantine church. Wander through the remnants of the ancient gymnasium and the synagogue, where you will get a glimpse of daily life in this once-thriving city.

As we continue our journey, we will visit Philadelphia (Alaşehir), known for being one of the seven churches that received praise in Revelation. You will explore the remains of a Byzantine basilica featuring stunning frescoes from the 11th century.

Next, we will head to Hierapolis, famous for its thermal springs, often called "Cotton Castle." Enjoy the spectacular travertine terraces before visiting the Martyrium of Apostle Philip, where he was martyred under the Roman Emperor Domitian.

Finally, we will make our way to Laodicea (modern Denizli), where ancient ruins await you. Explore the ancient theater, remnants of the basilica, and impressive stone water pipes. We will also visit the Domitian Gate, Arcadian Way, Nymphaion, Temple of Apollo, and the Necropolis.

After a day filled with exploration and history, we will return to our thermal hotel for dinner and overnight stay, where you can enjoy the soothing benefits of the hot springs.

Kuşadası

EPHESUS - KUŞADASI

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before setting off to the majestic ancient city of Ephesus, which served as the capital of Asia during early Christianity. Begin your visit with the Basilica of St. John, where it is believed that John the Apostle spent his last years.

Afterward, we will explore the Ephesus Archaeological Museum, which houses numerous artifacts from the ancient city, giving you insight into its rich history.

As we continue our journey through the ancient ruins, walk along the marble streets to see stunning landmarks, including the Scholastica Baths, the Library of Celsus, and the Temple of Hadrian. Marvel at the grandeur of the Great Theater, which once hosted thousands of spectators.

Before returning to your hotel, we will visit the House of the Virgin Mary, a significant pilgrimage site for Christians. Spend the evening in Kuşadası, a charming coastal town known for its lively atmosphere. Overnight stay in Kuşadası. (Meals: Breakfast and Dinner)

IZMIR - HOME

After enjoying your final breakfast at the hotel, it’s time to bid farewell to Turkey. You will be transferred to Izmir Airport for your return flight home, taking with you cherished memories of your journey through history and faith.
